A Risleyite who lived here in the 1950's (pre arts-dorm, it was all women) recalls:
"There were problems keeping the stocking seams straight for meals
in the dining hall (prior to panty hose, net stockings had a visible seam). There was a "stocking seam inspector."
There was a curfew, and the girls' dorms were on the other side of the gorge so the bridges could be patrolled at night."
